It's a Wrap for Season Five!

The Washington Post ran this article on its front page of Monday's edition (if the link doesn't work just do a Google News search for "The Wire" to find it). The show finished shooting on its fifth season last weekend. This article is really a must-read, giving a great glimpse into the actors' lives and how much the show meant to them as well as the intentions of Simon and Burns. The show, as conceived by its creators, is meant to be the television equivalent of a long novel. Money quote:

"In many ways, 'The Wire' is a long, convoluted love letter to Baltimore-- from a conflicted but resolutely committed lover."

The photo above is Dominic West (McNulty) addressing the cast and crew once the shooting had wrapped.

This has nothing to do with the wrap for season 5 and the whole brilliant work BUT I was watching R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet" last night. Michael Williams, a.k.a. Omar, has a staring role! Who knew?
Interesting point, btw - the scar is there, but much less noticeable.
